"I was drawn to the project because I had a great experience working with many of the crew members on a project last semester. I am primarily interested in picture editing and VFX. I enjoy the process of editing documentaries as you get to create a structured story with footage that on its own does not have any structure. And my interest in VFX also led me to work on Llorona as I would get to witness the behind the scenes of the film’s VFX integration."

Iris Song, a third-year BFTV student specializing editing and sound at Sheridan College. She grew up in China🇨🇳and has lived in Canada for around 3 years for her studies in Bachelor of Film and Television Production. Although studying abroad is a challenge for her, she is grateful for the experiences she receives. She has liked watching fantasy drama since middle school. Chinese myth, Japanese ghost story and the Western magic world are the three genres that have interested her most. Since she first read Llorona’s script, this ghost story with an inner concept of the family makes her feel that this story is very different and warm, becoming the reason of her joining this project.

"I have always loved the post production side of film. Being able to manage it has been quite the experience. I chose to take on the role of co-post production supervisor because when I first heard the story of Llorona I was intrigued. Being able to see it come to life has been a real treat. I can see myself perusing to this position once again in the future."
